Congratulations to the Mirror for its coverage over the NHS changes today.

Contrast that with an e-mail I received from David Cameron today. "For the first time, you will call the shots and public services will really respond to what you need." Well, what I need is an assurance that if I need an operation it will be provided within 18 weeks and if I'm in A&E, what I need is an assurance that I will be properly attended to within 4 hours.

David Cameron refused to give these assurances at PMQs today. So am I really in charge?

In planning, it would appear that if I can find 2 friends, the Gov't will give me and my mates the rights to create a Neighbourhood Forum and to call ourselves representatives of the neighbourhood on planning issues and the planning authority will have to support us although not necessarily finance our plans. Cameron says "we’re having proper discussions about what really works". That ain't right either.
