Meeting voters in a by-election in Broxtowe Borough today, I met someone who'd appreciated an essay penned by Chris Leslie MP for Nottingam East for the local newspaper.
My biggest disappointment remains the lack of ambition we now have for the people. How we borrowed to keep people in work. How we sought to bring the world together to tackle the recession together in unison.
Instead we've gone back to the thinking of the nineteen thirties and Neville Chamberlain. We've even got 2 flavours of Liberals, although the progressive element is constrained in proportions to the seeds of vanilla in a posh ice cream. (I'll re-write that.)
Interesting though that Labour has drawn level in one of the polls. And that's before the effects of the coalition's policy changes have really kicked in.
