David Cameron discussed cutting the use of Government cars yesterday to save public money. Nice. The thought triggered no doubt by cycling and being followed by a government car carrying his stuff.
Cameron spoke of candour, saying next year’s public spending must be cut, cited examples in the world of politics amounting to £120 million, and then, after acknowledging that this figure was very low compared to the public debt he’s concerned about, stopped.
So not speaking with candour over which budget areas are to be cut.
And then this morning, the news was, he will announce his desire to divert more money to the NHS serving the most deprived areas. Billions apparently. From what it was being diverted from is not said.
