Wilford Hill church filled to overflowing for the funeral of Pearl Creamer on Tuesday.

Known to me as the wife of Notts County Councillor, and former work colleague, Jim Creamer, repeated tributes were offered to Pearl as someone who continually helped neighbours in need.

Brave and self-sacrificing, she had a second child against doctors’ advice, who way back then had already diagnosed kidney disease.

An emotional event, particularly when Jim and her son Martin chose to speak. The music chosen expressing her values – “you’ll never walk alone” and “we don’t care what your name is, we’ll never turn you away”.
