Here’s a quick summary of news, events and casework for June 2004  


24th Phil Hope, Minister for Local Government visits Nottingham, as part of Government's commitment to leading economic development throughout England outside of London through "Core Cities" of which Nottingham is one;

23rd Tories announces plans to direct NHS resorces into private health care;

22nd Executive Board - agree next stages for redevelopment of Leisure Centres, including next steps towards the Mapperley Sports Village;  

21st Full Council - Gearing Up for Change and Best Value Performance Plan

10th European elections close; turnout in Nottingham is 37% compared to only 19% in 1999; turnout in elections was generally up across the country, so turnout may have reached 30%; but all postal voting is responsible for at least 7%;
