A quick summary of news, events and casework for February 2004

27th – leaders of Notts Local Authorities meet and raise concerns over Police performance;

26th – meet the Audit Commission and other inspectors and regulators to discuss the next 12 months of inspection and audit;

23rd – tour of Pearmain Drive and Warton Avenue estate;

17th Executive Board agrees Council Tax increase of 4.55% for consultation; the increase no longer covers the Fire Authority; all the extra money is for new services;  all cost increases are met by efficiency savings;

13th – Meet Voluntary Sector to discuss budget proposals;

6th – SIGOMA meeting discusses the future of Local Government taxation (the Balance of Funding Review);

3rd – Midland Main Line's customer services manager meets Greater Nottingham Transport Partnership to outline vison for new trains and a reconstructed St.Pancras station;

2nd – Full Council -

including - Lib Dems question universal postal voting even though it means much higher turnouts;
