A quick summary of news, events and casework for November 2002


26th – Elliott Durham Small Education Action Zone hosts awards evening for pupils at Primary, Junior and Infants schools in Mapperley and St.Anns to celebrate the achievements of pupils;

26th – Confirm cases raised on response to survey published in Mapperley Rose No. 28; includes action on tipping and blocked gully pots;

21st – Attend meeting of residents of City View and development control officers to discuss tree planting, use of gardens and possible land slippage problems;

21st – HMI inspection of Elliott Durham on attainment finds good practice by the school and the LEA;

19th – Tram board (NET) hears that public opinion along the proposed routes to the A453 and A52 via Clifton and Beeston respectively enjoys majority support from people living along the routes;

17th – Meet residents at Caunton Avenue with Cllr. Emma Dewinton;

11th – Meet Inspector Windmill-Jones with Sherwood Councillors;

10th – Remembrance Sunday;

8thMapperley Rose No. 28 published, with survey; tour Brewsters Road estate;

8th – Ruth Johns launches her local history of St.Anns;

4th – Attend meeting with Midland Mainline to discuss plans to accommodate Manchester trains via Leicester at the expense of Turbostars from Nottingham to London next year;

4th – Attend launch of Transforming Secondary Education; all Nottingham’s secondary school staff attend launch addressed by Prof. Tim Brighouse from Birmingham; aim is to bring schools together within Nottingham and linked to Birmingham schools to share good practice;
