Saghir Akhtar and Emma Dewinton stood to become the first Labour City Councillors for Mapperley Ward, and possibly the first women. Saghir was certainly standing to be the first ethnic minority councillor for the ward. This introductory leaflet was published on the 1st April, 1995, and labelled Labour Forward no 14. It was distributed throughout the ward. The centre-spread photo was taken at the Left Lion, in the Old Market Square.
