High Noon at Furlong City


The end of a dispute at work, when the British Railways Board imposed new contracts of employment on staff in managerial grades. Nottingham happened to be where the largest number of staff did not sign the new contracts, until advised to by our trade union, the Transport Salaried Staffs Association. So those who hadn't signed were to meet at lunchtime to sign together. Hence the High Noon; and Furlong House was where we worked.
